Creating a new Calendar
You may create and use as many calendars as you wish.
  1. Select a name for your calendar. Limit it to twenty characters or less please - short and sweet. Type the name you've chosen into the box labeled 'Calendar Name'.
  2. Provide your email address in the designated box. We will never divulge your email address to anyone. We will only use it if you click the 'notify' box (see below). We won't market to you, won't spam you, and we promise we won't bother you. Cross our hearts.
  3. Type a password into the designated box. Choose a password that will be easy for you and your group members to remember. It provides only minimal security, but should gently disuade prying eyes.
  4. If you wish to receive a brief email notification when someone updates the calendar, click the designated check-box. (you must provide a valid email address to use this feature.)
  5. You're ready - Click the 'Create' button.
  6. Tell your group members the name of your calendar, your password, and the URL: www.RingLLC.com/OurCalendar
  7. Write to us at OurCalendar@RingLLC.com if you have any problems.
Using an existing Calendar
Whoever created the calendar you wish to use should have provided you with the name and password. Select the name from the drop down list. Type the password into the designated box. Click the 'Go' button.

You should see four months of calendar entries. When this month ends, the calendar will automatically scroll forward by one month.

Scroll to the date that you wish to fill in. If there is no note in the date already, simply fill in your note and click the 'Save' button. If a note already exists in that date, click the check-box for that date before filling in your note, then click the 'Save' button. This check-box step is there to make sure you don't accidentally write over an existing note. When you're finished, close your browser window.

Occasionally asked questions

Can I change the name of my calendar?
Yes, the user who created a calendar can change the name. Log in by selecting the name of the calendar and providing the password. You will see a dialog box in the upper right corner of the screen. Type in the email address you supplied when you created the calendar. Type in a new name for the calendar and click the Change button.

Can I delete a calendar that I no longer need?
Yes, the user who created a calendar can delete it. Log in by selecting the name of the calendar and providing the password. You will see a dialog box in the upper right corner of the screen. Type in the email address you supplied when you created the calendar. Click the Delete button. Click "ok" when asked if you want to delete the calendar.

Can I undelete a calendar I didn't really mean to delete?
If this happens, send an email to OurCalendar@RingLLC.com and we'll help you retrieve an accidentally deleted calendar.

Can I change the password for a calendar?
Not presently. The first time someone requests this, we will add the functionality.

Why am I not getting the notification emails when someone updates a calendar entry?
Write to us at OurCalendar@RingLLC.com. It may be that you didn't specify notifications on when you created the calendar. It may also be that OurCalendar's email is being filtered as spam by your internet service provider (ISP). Contact your ISP if you need assistance getting email/spam sorted out.
